CHITWAN, Feb 7: Co-chairperson of Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal has reiterated his stance on Venezuela issue. He added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had furnished a clarification to the Embassy of America in line with his own statement.

Dahal also expressed dissatisfaction in the joint statement by diplomatic missions on Nepal's peace process was unnecessary and irrelevant in the absence of Prime Minister and the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Dahal said so at a press conference at Chitwan. He said that his comment was a political statement and it was issued with an objective of not tolerating any kind of external interference on the internal affairs of any sovereign, independent country.

Dahal clarified that his party had accepted his stance in NCP's secretariat meeting.

Dahal's views have somehow divided the ruling party as Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli labeled the former's statement a 'slip' and unnecessary.

"It wasn't a topic that we'd have to speak about. There also were 'unnecessary words'," the Prime Minister said in a program, Janata Sanga Pradhanmantri broadcast on Nepal Television.
