KATHMANDU, May 16: Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who flew to Bangkok on Sunday, has returned home on Monday afternoon.

He told the reporters at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) that he was in Bangkok to participate in a function held by the Asia Pacific Coordination Exchange and Cooperation (APCEC).

Some time ago, Dahal had visited Singapore and Malaysia on the invitation of the same organization. The motive behind his visit, which took place amidst the deepening political crisis in the country, remains unknown.
