Customs-evaded garments seized in Jhapa

JHAPA, Aug 7:  The Armed Police Force has seized garments worth Rs 1 million that were smuggled into the country without paying customs duties.

JHAPA, Aug 7:  A team of the Armed Police Force (APF) has seized garments worth Rs 1 million that were smuggled into the country without paying customs duties.



The operation took place at two locations: Sunmai Tea Garden in Buddhashanti Rural Municipality-7 and the Bus Park in Mechinagar Municipality-6. According to Suman Pokharel, information officer of the APF Battalion No 2, the garments were confiscated by a team deployed from Sunmai Tea Garden.

Further garments were recovered by another team, with the total value yet to be confirmed.
