PARSA, Jan 6: The District Administration Office (DAO), Parsa, has extended the curfew hours in Birgunj from 8 AM to 1 PM on Tuesday. The DAO had initially imposed the curfew from 6:00 PM to 8:00 AM in the Birgunj Metropolitan City area.
Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal said efforts are underway to resolve the disputes. The curfew was issued to maintain law and order in view of potential conflicts between two ethnic communities.

The DPO stated that vehicles providing essential services will be allowed to operate during the curfew and urged residents to coordinate with security agencies if they need to leave their homes.
Authorities also emphasized that gatherings, rallies and demonstrations are prohibited during the curfew in the area bounded by Bus Park in the east, Sirsiyapul in the west, Powerhouse Chowk in the north and Shankaracharya Gate in the south.
