GULARIYA, Oct 3: A curfew that had been in force at Lalpur and its adjoining areas in the district headquarters Gulariya since 10:00 am yesterday has been withdrawn after 23 hours.
The Bardiya District Administration Office had issued the curfew order here in the aftermath of a clash between two groups (Hindus and Muslims) that had reached Lalpur Sunday to immerse an idol of the Goddess Durga and for the conclusion rituals of Muharram festival of the Muslims.
The order was in effect from Lalpur to Ganeshpur of Gulariya Municipality-11. It was lifted from 9:00 am today, Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said.(RSS)
