KATHMANDU, Aug 29: Thirty-five players have been selected to the national men's cricket team in the initial stage for the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) taking place in Nepal in December.
A selection team comprising of chief coach Umesh Patawal and captain Paras Khadka announced the players to the national team as part of the primary selection. The closed training camp for the team will start from September 1.
The players selected in the preliminary stage are Paras Khadka, Gyanendra Malla, Sharad Bheswakar, Basanta Regmi, Raju Silwal, Jitendra Mukhiya, Pradip Airi, Sunil Dhamala, Shaurav Khanal, Lalit Singh Bhandari, Bikram Sob, Ishan Pandey and Karan KC.
Similarly, Mohammad Aarif Shekh, Binod Bhandari, Sandip Jora, Kushal Malla, Rit Gautam, Pawan Sarraf, Amit Shrestha, Kishor Mahato, Mohammad Asif Shelh, Susan Bhari, Anil Kumar Shah and Avinas Bohora are also selected in the initial round.
Also selected to the nation team include Sandip Lamichhane, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Nandan Yadav, Rohit Kumar Poudel, Bhim Sarki, Kushal Bhurtel,Dipendra Singh Airi, Sompal Kami, Sagar Dhakal and Sahab Alam.
SAG is taking place from December 1 to 10.
