KATHMANDU, Aug 13: In a pivotal development for cricket enthusiasts in Parbat district, Resham Bahadur KC has been elected as the President of the Cricket Association of Parbat.
The convention held on Thursday also heralded the establishment of a dynamic working committee comprising nine individuals, with Sujan Sharma Poudel assuming the role of Vice President, Dipendra Sharma Lamichhane taking on the responsibilities of Secretary, and Anish Shrestha entrusted with the position of Treasurer. The convention was conducted with the gracious presence of Devendra Prajoo, Central Supervisor and President of Gandaki Provincial Cricket Association.
Parbat gets its maiden seismometer
With a commitment to cultivating cricket's growth in the district, the newly formed committee has outlined an array of initiatives. Among them, plans have been set in motion to orchestrate school-level programs, in addition to fostering age group tournaments for U-16 and U-19 players. These undertakings are expected to provide a solid foundation for cricket's development at the grassroots level.
The momentous achievement of Parbat district gaining recognition as the 44th membership district within the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) was formalized during the annual general meeting held in Falgun 2079 BS. The designation of this membership has invigorated hopes for nurturing local cricket talents and potentially witnessing future players donning the colors of the Nepal National Cricket Team.
Sujan Sharma Poudel, Vice President of the Cricket Association of Parbat, expressed his optimism, saying, "This milestone marks a substantial leap forward in Parbat's cricket landscape and augurs well for the broader cricket community of Nepal. We are embarking on a grassroots journey, and our aspirations extend to witnessing talents of residents of Parbat making a mark on the national stage."
