KATHMANDU, May 1: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has claimed that the NC will win the local level election to be held on May 13 nationally.

Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Sunday, General Secretary Sharma said that the party is not only thinking about winning the election but also about how to bring society together. Sharma claimed that after seeing the strength of the NC in the local elections, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli gave a fearful statement that his party weighs a quintal while other parties weigh just one kilogram. Oli had given such a statement in a program recently and replying back to that comment from Oli, NC General Secretary Sharma said that the CPN-UML is a quintal of potatoes while the alliance is gold even if it weighs only one tola.

Similarly, Sharma said that despite stating that the party would fight alone in the local level election, CPN-UML was collaborating with Kamal Thapa secretly. He also claimed that a majority victory would be registered in Kathmandu Metropolitan City this time under the leadership of Sirjana Singh.

Likewise, General Secretary Sharma said that the NC wanted to be the first party to consolidate power through coordination and to make Nepal prosperous within 15 years by winning in the local level elections.
