KATHMANDU, April 19: The CPN-UML is holding its Central Committee meeting today. The meeting is scheduled to form the party’s general convention organizing committee.
The meeting will be held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar at 1PM, said Surya Thapa, press advisor to the Prime Minister K P Oli. CPN-UML Chairman Oli had earlier announced holding the party’s 10th general convention from November 18 to 22.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had called the meeting earlier than it was originally scheduled. Party insiders said there was a preparation to call the CWC meeting after a few days.
Leaders close to Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction said they are not participating in the CWC meeting scheduled for today. The Nepal-led faction has said that they would not participate in the meeting until the unilateral decision taken by Chairman Oli to induct former Maoist leaders as the UML’s CWC member is withdrawn.
