CPN-Maoist reiterates its stand against elections

POKHARA, July 1: Most of the speakers at the ongoing extended meeting of the CPN-Maoist here have reiterated the stand that the party needs to boycott the November 19 Constituent Assembly election.



So far, thirty-three party leaders representing different departments and committees have spoken about the political and organizational report presented by General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa and about the struggle programmes by Chairman Mohan Baidya.[break]



At a press meet organized by the party here on Monday, Spokesperson Pampha Bhushal said most of the speakers stressed on thwarting CA election.



The CPN-Maoist is for the progressive political outlet through the formation of a joint national government and constitution after holding a roundtable conference. The party, she argued, was against the completion of the remaining tasks of the previous CA.



Moreover, she said if the government used force against party´s boycott to election, the people would retaliate with it.



According to her, 40 more leaders have registered their names to speak about the reports. A total of 203 leaders ranging from politburo members to advisors have participated in the meeting.
