KATHMANDU, Oct 27: General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Sitaram Yechury held a meeting with Nepal Communist Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter’s residence in Khumaltar, on Saturday morning.
During the meeting, the two leaders stressed on strengthening relations between Nepal and India and CPI (M) and the NCP, according to Central Committee Member of NCP Bishnu Rijal.
Yechury is also joining a tea reception program hosted by the ruling NCP on the occasion of Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals on Saturday at Bhrikutimandap.
India must re-think its Nepal policy: CPI-M
Yechury arrived in Kathmandu at the invitation of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) on Thursday.
Yechury, an old Nepal hand, already met President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, and senior leaders.
Yechury delivered a speech on 'Experience of Indian Communist Movement' organized by Pushpalal Smriti Pratisthan on Friday. The NCP hosted dinner in honor of the visiting Indian leader on Thursday evening.
The Indian leader is accompanied by CPI (M) Central Committee member Jogendra Sharma. Wrapping up his Nepal visit, Yechury will return home on October 30.
