COVID-19 update in Province 1: 56 infected, 54 discharged

MORANG, Aug 31: As many as 56 persons tested positive for coronavirus while 54 persons were discharged after recovery in Province 1 on Monday, the province’s Social Development Ministry said.

According to the ministry, Sunsari, Morang, Sankhuwasabha and Jhapa districts reported 26, 17, nine and four new cases of coronavirus respectively. With this, the coronavirus tally in Province 1 has reached 3,367.

Meanwhile, 54 COVID-19 patients were discharged from various isolation centers in Province 1. The province’s Social Development Ministry stated that 32 COVID-19 patients were discharged from an isolation center in Harinagar, Sunsari. Likewise, 18 COVID-19 patients were discharged from isolation centers in Ilam district while four persons were discharged from home isolation.

"With this, the number of people to be discharged after recovery has climbed to 1,589," the ministry stated. At least 1,392 persons underwent PCR tests in Province 1 on Monday. As of today, 88,990 persons underwent PCR tests in Province 1, according to the ministry.
