LAHAN, June 18: The COVID-19 special hospital has been set up in Janakpurdham. The provincial government has brought a special 100-bed COVID hospital into operation by making use of the unused building of Manipal Teaching Hospital in Janakpurdham.
Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut and Minister for Social Development Nawal Kishor Sah jointly inaugurated the COVID Special Hospital to be run under the Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences. Although attempts were made to operate the COVID Special Hospital in the building since a year ago, it could be brought into operation only from Thursday due to various obstacles.

Inaugurating the hospital, Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut, who is also the chancellor of the academy, said that the Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences would soon start providing other specialist services in addition to the treatment of COVID infected people.
Chief Minister Raut said that Manipal, which had taken land lease from the government to run the teaching hospital, could not operate the hospital even after decades because of which the institute will now bring the land into use. "Not only the treatment of corona infection but also other specialist services will start soon from here,” he said.
