Covid-19 patient dies in Surkhet

SURKHET, June 23: A 35 years old man from Dullu Municipality, Dailekh has died of the coronavirus infection.


He was undergoing treatment for Covid-19 for a week at the Karnali Provincial Hospital.

The infected man breathed his last on Monday night at around 9:30, according to Dr KN Poudel, the corona focal person of the hospital.


The deceased who was also a tuberculosis patient had been admitted to Karnali Provincial Hospital on June 17.


He had tested positive for the virus on June 19.


“He is not an India-returnee. He had also undergone treatment in Dallu Hospital and later referred to the provincial hospital,” said Mayor Ganashyam Bhandari.


So far, Karnali Province has recorded five Covid-19 deaths.
