KATHMANDU, July 19: The Ministry of Health and Population has reported 156 new cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nepal in the past 24 hours. They tested positive out of 3,741 real time PCR tests carried out during this period at 27 different labs across the country.
With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has reached 17,658.

Speaking during a virtual press briefing on Sunday afternoon, Dr Jageshwor Gautam, the spokesperson for the ministry said that 58 more COVID-19 patients have won their battle against this viral infection and returned home on Sunday. With this, the total number of recoveries has reached 11,695 which accounts for 66.24 per cent of the total confirmed cases.
As of Sunday afternoon, there are a total of 5,923 active cases in Nepal while 22,662 people are in quarantine facilities throughout the country. Similarly, Nepal has reported a total of 40 cases of fatalities so far.
