3,370 people gained recovery, 8,418 cases counted in past 24 hours
KATHMANDU, May 8: Nepal reported a slight drop in the number of new COVID-19 infections on Saturday. According to the data released by the health ministry, as many as 8,418 more people were diagnosed with the disease, which is less than Friday’s case-count of 9,196.

The number of day-wise infections was on the rise for the past one month.
With today’s case-count, Nepal’s cumulative caseload has jumped to 385,890.
The country witnessed significant improvement in cases recovery. According to the health ministry, a total 3,370 people won their battle against the disease on Saturday. The number is also higher than the daily number of recoveries confirmed on Friday. On Friday, officials shared the data that 2,905 patients got over the infectious disease. With today’s data, as many as 298,735 people have gained recovery from the disease, which accounts for 77.4 percent.
Meanwhile, the country reported 53 other deaths in the past 24 hours taking the country’s fatality tally to 3,632.
