COVID-19 death toll in Gandaki Province rises to 10 as a man from Pokhara Metropolis succumbs to virus on Friday

POKHARA, Aug 28: The COVID-19 death toll in Gandaki Province reached 10 on Friday as a 52-year-old man from Pokhara Metropolitan City-16 succumbed to the novel coronavirus disease earlier this afternoon.

POKHARA, Aug 28: The COVID-19 death toll in Gandaki Province reached 10 on Friday as a 52-year-old man from Pokhara Metropolitan City-16 succumbed to the novel coronavirus disease earlier this afternoon.


The man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Friday morning breathed his last at 12:15PM as soon as he was rushed to Western Regional Hospital under the Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences. Dr Arjun Acharya at the hospital said that the man reached the hospital for treatment after having breathing difficulties.

According to Acharya, the man was also suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes.


The hospital has witnessed six coronavirus-linked deaths as of today while Gandaki Province has reported 10 fatalities related to COVID-19. The province has witnessed a surge in coronavirus cases in recent weeks.
