Couples felicitated for sterilizing

BARDIYA, Sept 5: A non-governmental organization set up by local women felicitated 61 couples on Saturday for opting permanent sterilization after having two daughters each.



The couples were felicitated in the presence of representatives of political parties, civil society and the media.



The event was organized to spread awareness in the district where until a few years ago, women were forced to tolerate repeated pregnancies in the hope of giving birth to sons.
