KATHMANDU, Nov 30: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stated that with the registration of bill at the Legislature-Parliament Secretariat on Tuesday evening for the second amendment to the Constitution of Nepal, the country has paved its path towards long overdue elections.

In a meeting with the representatives of the All Nepal Women's Association (Revolutionary) at his official residence at Baluwatar today morning, PM Dahal reiterated that ensuring the steadfast unity and amity among the Hill, Mountain and Terai was the utmost priority of the incumbent government.

Terming the newly registered constitution amendment proposal as a representation of the national unity, Dahal assured, "We can't imagine things that undo the national interest."

Stating that the protest against the constitution amendment proposal was against the national unity, the PM reaffirmed his commitment to continue with the efforts to forge a consensus among the disgruntled sides.

Hinting towards the disapproval of the major opposition CPN (UML) towards the government's latest move, PM Dahal expressed his confidence that the party would eventually favour the constitution amendment.

The visiting team led by Association's Chairperson Amrita Thapa Magar drew the attention of the PM towards ensuring inclusive representation of women in all state organs as mandated by the new constitution. RSS
