The band members had been taken into custody on Friday night following a drunken brawl at North Palace Restaurant at Thamel. When the trio went for medical examination, a doctor at the emergency ward of TU Teaching Hospital refused to treat them. "They wanted a police report to be shown," Dangol said. "It is important for us to undergo treatment as we might have some hidden fractures," Dangol said.
Earlier in the morning, when the police had taken the band members to Bir Hospital, the doctors there refused to treat them and instead forced them to sign a medical form admitting that they were drunk.
When myrepublica.com enquired about the issue at Bir Hospital, an emergency ward staff said, "We don´t care what happened. This is Bir Hospital and this is how we work," the staff said.
Meanwhile, owner of the restaurant Chiranjibi Vadda said he had received a call from Sohrakhutte Police Range on Saturday. "On Saturday evening, I got a call from the police. The officer warned me against publicizing the issue," he said.
On Saturday evening, other musicians who were playing at The Garden of Dreams were also detained, said Vadda.
