An armed gang had kidnapped Anish Kumar Sah (10), son of Bikash Sah of Rajadevi-6 on Monday morning while he was sleeping at home. [break]
Police, on a tip-off that the kidnappers are hiding on the bank of Bagmati river, encircled the area. A gunfight broke out and the gang of five persons escaped from the scene leaving the child, according to the District Police Office, Rautahat.
Superintendent of Police Pitambar Adhikari said police were trying to find out the gang behind the kidnapping and its motive.
