Normal life in the region has been thrown out of gear with the incessant rain and the subsequent cold. It has started raining heavily since last night.[break]
Snowfall has been reported in the high altitude areas in the region leading to a sharp drop in temperature.
The elderly, children and the daily wage labourers have been hit the hardest by the cold. Electricity and telephone services in the mountainous districts of the region have also been affected due to the precipitation.
