GAIGHAT, Sept 18: CPN-UML Vice-chair and former Deputy Prime Minister Bamdev Gautam has said the constitution of Nepal cannot be amended for fulfilling 'other's' agenda.
Speaking at a press meet here today, leader Gautam said that amendment of the constitution could not made as dictated by others' interest. Leader Gautam said that the ruling CPN (Maoist Centre) and Nepali Congress were reiterating for amending the constitution but no agenda has been made clear to prove its rationale.
He added that UML will play a constructive role from as an opposition. Former DPM Gautam also argued that Madhes-centric parties' demands were not clear adding that one needs to be clear on which articles should be amended and for purpose.
Leader Gautam said the recent visit of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to India had no meaningful and fruitful agenda. Leader Gautam said different Tarai-centric parties' demands were already addressed therefore no genuine demands were left. RSS
