Constitution amendment could be thought after poll: UML Chair Oli

KATHMANDU, April 20: CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli has said that the issue of constitution amendment could be thought of only after the local Poll. 

Talking to media persons at Tribhuvan International Airport on his arrival from Bangkok today, the UML Chair reiterated to holding local poll in single phase in the slated date of May 14. Chair Oli today returned home after his follow up medical checkup from Thailand. 

He added that the unnecessary issues and obstacles should not be brought forth to obstruct the election process. 

Leader Oli denied any conditions regarding the May 14 election adding that there can be no 'but or if' when it comes to holding the local election. Oli who is also the former Prime Minister ruled out the possibility of holding local election in two phases. 
Referring to some of the Madhes-centric parties' merger process, leader Oli termed it as positive signal. 

To a query of journalists regarding the party's election manifesto and candidacy, Chair Oli said these tasks will be completed soon. 
He further shared that the he had undergone the hernia surgery as well along with other follow up health examinations in Thailand. 

Party acting chair Bamdev Gautam, general secretary Ishwar Pokharel, leader Subas Nembang among other central leaders were on hand at the airport to welcome chair Oli. RSS
