KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Minister for Water Supply, Mahindra Raya Yadav, has said that the conservation of the Chure region can be the lasting solution of drinking water problems in Terai-Madhesh.
As the Chure region enables natural recharge of water, its conservation helps address problems of drinking water, which is increasingly being acute in Tarai-Madhes, Minister Yadav underlined.

He said this to the parliament on Friday. Efforts were underway for long-term solution of drinking water problems in Tarai-Madhes, according to him.
Responding to queries raised by lawmakers in the second meeting of the House of Representatives, Minister Yadav shared that discussion was held with the Forest Ministry and Energy Ministry for the same.
He added that the ministry also discussed with the Finance Ministry for the arrangement of budget required to complete the construction of drinking water tanks in Terai-Madhesh to address the pressing problem.
