KATHMANDU, June 30: The registration of complaints at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) has invariably gone up in pursuit of justice of war-era crimes after a long hiatus. 

There is complaint galore from war-era victims seeking justice to console their pains and plights they forbore during a decade-long civil unrest and armed struggle. 

As many as 45,000 complaints have been so far lodged at the transitional justice mechanism. The number of complaints is expected to reach 50,000 within the extended deadline for registration. 

In the preliminary stage, the Commission will look after whether there are necessary evidences substantiating the complaint or not. The Commission is prepared to advance its works keeping aside the complaints which have no evidences and do not fall under the jurisdiction of the TRC. 

"Once completing the first stage in which we will separate the case-wise complaints and then will start investigations into the cases", said TRC member Manchala Jha. 

The Commission has been collecting complaints from 73 districts excluding Manang and Mustang. RSS
