How do you think participation in the CAN Info-Tech will help your company?
The event is a big platform for ICT entrepreneurs. In the initial years of participation, we mainly focused on branding. Lately, we have also started extending gifts and discounts to attract customers. But even today our major objective is to promote the company’s brand name, rather than on-spot sales. During the event, we will be briefing visitors on our products, their features and usage.
Consumers often complain about poor quality of products and dearth of after-sales services in the domestic market. What is your take on this issue?
First of all, I would like to assure our customers that we sell genuine products. In case of problems, customers can reach us on our toll-free number between 10 am to 6 pm. In case the problem is not solved, we replace the faulty product with a new one.
What do you think are major obstacles for ICT traders in Nepal?
The competition is there in the market, which is actually a good thing. But the problem is that the competition is on pricing. Competition should instead be on delivering quality products so that poor quality products can be eradicated from the market.
The government has exempt computers from customs duty, but such facilities are non-existent on imports of peripheral equipment like routers and cables. Exemption of duty on such products would make those products cheaper for Nepali consumers.
