KATHMANDU, March 4: CPN (Maoist Center) Secretary Devendra Paudel has claimed that a new alliance has been formed with the goal of making a 'course correction' in Nepal's politics and taking it towards leftist convergence.
Talking to media persons at the conclusion of the Maoist Center office-bearers' meeting held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar today, he said, "It becomes necessary sometimes to make a breakthrough. If there is an obstacle in the political journey, a new chapter starts. This is not a new topic. There was a little break in the past, it (the new alliance) is a continuation from the past itself.”
The Maoist Center Secretary said that the Socialist Front Nepal will also be continued with the formation of a new alliance together with the CPN-UML.
"The main leaders of the rest of the parties in the Front are also communists. We will move ahead taking all the parties in the Front along," Paudel said.
