KATHMANDU, Dec 18: The government committee formed under the coordination of former Secretary Sharada Prasad Trital on Tuesday submitted its report to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli after searching for all moveable (land) and immovable property in the Kathmandu Valley belonging to the Tribhuvan University (TU).
A member of the committee, Mahendra Thapa, handed over the report to the PM at the presence of Minister for Education, Science and Technology Bidhya Bhattarai and TU office-bearers.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers on May 29 had decided to form the Trital-led committee comprising former joint secretaries Mahendra Thapa and Janaki Ballav Adhikari and Prof Dr Prem Sagar Chapagain as its members.

After receiving the report, PM Oli said that the recommendations of the report will be implemented at the earliest since the committee was formed under the leadership of an efficient person.
PM Oli, who is also the TU Chancellor, said that a conclusion should be drawn by further studying the areas that were not covered by the current committee.
Committee member Mahendra Thapa coordinated the team to give the final touch to the report as convener Trital fell sick.
The committee has suggested the ideas for the use of land and the existing state of TU land plots of 21 campuses of TU in the Kathmandu Valley including the TU land at Kirtipur, Naikap, Dhungeadda, Patan and other areas.
The committee has also suggested the government write to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police about the misuse of the TU land.
The committee was given the mandate to prepare the report after investigating all moveable and immovable properties of TU that are in the valley.
