Gliders will take off from Bandipur Bhanjyang located at an altitude of 1,215 meters and will land at the Piple ground which is at the height of 865 meters. The operators have received permission to fly up to the altitude of 5,000 feet.

The cost of paragliding for domestic tourist has been fixed at Rs 5,000 and for foreigners at € 80.

The Pokhara-based paragliding operator is preparing to launch commercial paragliding from Bandipur from coming August. Parajuli, the director of Bluesky, told Republica that the company has received permission from Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoTCA) to operate tandem as well as solo flights from Bandipur.

The company had applied for the permission about three and half years ago.

Tourism entrepreneurs are hopeful that Bandipur will develop as a popular place for paragliding because of the magnificent view of the mountains and traditional settlements.

They said that the place can also be an alternative to Sarangkot during high air pressure or busy air space.
