Morang, Aug 25: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said it is urgent to combat smuggling to promote the nation's prestige and to advance towards economic prosperity.
Talking to media persons at the Biratnagar Airport today, the former prime minister said, "Smuggling is a major hurdle to a nation's development and it must be promptly contained."
He said that the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML, the two major political parties, are univocal in collaboration for strengthening good governance and economic progress.
The UML chairman said the government formation was not a priority for the UML. The party was rather focused on political stability, good governance, corruption prevention and economic development.
Oli also expressed his concern over 'unseemly' political developments taking place in Koshi Province in the name of government formation.
