Minister of Environment, Science and Technology Dr Keshav Man Shakya was present as the chief guest on the last day of the exhibition and took great interest in observing everything on display. Addressing the crowd in the college premises, Minister Shakya said that while the government was ignoring the field of science and technology, the efforts of private institutions were commendable.[break]
Hari Singh KC, Vice Principal and Program Coordinator, said that the private sector would always be ready to extend help and support to the government in the field of science and technology. He added that such exhibitions would be continued in the coming days.
Many exceptional students were honored during the concluding ceremony and the participating colleges, schools and organizations were also presented with certificates. Judged and voted by students, Kathmandu Model College, Nepal Model School and Golden Gate were awarded the first, second and third position respectively for their science exhibitions. Bagmati Boarding School was also awarded a consolation prize. The institutions were presented with certificates, shields and medals by Minister Shakya.
More than 40 stalls were set up in the exhibition by various schools and colleges. The most popular stalls held robot exhibitions and solar energy and many students could be seen in these stalls.
Free dental checkups, health checkups and blood donation program were also held during the event.
