KATHMANDU, June 26: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) of Nepal Army (NA) General Rajendra Chettri is returning home on Sunday completing his six-day Lebanon visit. General Chettri had left for Lebanon on June 21.
During his stary, Chettri met Nepali soldiers of Gorakahdal Battalion, who are currently mobilized in peacekeeping in different parts of Lebanon, and addressed them.
He also met acting Lebanese President and Prime Minister Tammam Salam, Defense Minister Samir Moukbel nufot, Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Jean Kahwaji, UNIFIL Head of Mission / Force Commander Major General Luciano Portolano (Italy), / Sector East Commander Brigadier General Alfredo Perez De Aguado Martinez (Spain).
During the visit, they discussed subjects and NA’s peacekeeping role in Lebanon. NA expects that such visit will help to boost its image at international level and relation among Nepal, UN and concerned countries.
