Club Volleyball C'ship from Sept 13

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: Nepal Volleyball Association is set to organize the 3rd National Women's and Men's NVA Club Volleyball Championship from September 13 to 19 at National Sports Council (NSC)'s covered hall in Tripureshwar. 

Organizing a press meet on Wednesday in Kathmandu, the association informed that 21 clubs - 11 in men's and 10 in women's section - from across the country have confirmed their participation in the championship. However, the registration is open till September 9. 
Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, Armed Police Force Club (APF), Help Nepal Sports Club, Dhorpatan Sports Club, Jawalakhel Sports Club, Naya Bazar Yuva Club, Mani Mukunda Club (Butwal), Pragatishil Yuva Club (Jiri), Kavre Volleyball Association Club and Western Regional Club have confirmed their participation in the men's section of the championship.  

Similarly, Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, APF, Dhorpatan Sports Club, Jawalakhel Sports Club, Shreegaun Higher Secondary School (Dang), Pragatishil Youth Club (Jiri), Western Regional Team, Kavre Volley ball Association and New Diamond Volleyball Club have registered their teams in the women's section. 

Shree Gaun, Naya Bazar Yuva Club, Mani Mukunda and Pragatishil Yuva Club are four new teams participating in this championship to be played in league-cum-knockout format. 

This championship will also serve as the qualifiers for the upcoming National Volleyball League according to the association. Top six finishers in the women's section and top eight finishers in the men's section will secure place for the National League.   

The top three teams of the championship in both male and female sections will be rewarded with Rs 125, 000 and Rs 70,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively. Similarly, best player of the championship from both sections will be handed Rs 15,000 each. Best blocker, lifter, spiker, libero and server will be given Rs 5,000 each in the both male and female segments. 

The association also informed that the total budget of the tournament is Rs 1.2 million out of which Rs 570,000 has been allocated for cash prizes. 

Nepal Police Club and Armed Police Force (APF) had won the last edition of the championship in the male and female sections respectively.
