The closed session, which is portrayed as a convention of ideas, will have a total of 1,631 delegates and observers.  Representatives from seven provinces and three geographical regions are participating in the convention.

A meeting of the CPN (Maoist Center) Central Committee held Sunday morning decided to elect a 299-member central committee with 15 office-bearers. Although the closed session will be held in the Nepal Academy hall in Kamaladi, its management is challenging as there are more representatives than the capacity of the hall.

The Maoist Center, which had initially announced plans to organize a national conference, had later turned it into a general convention on Saturday.
