Clash between police and locals at Sisdol

KATHMANDU, July 21: A clash between the police and the locals of Sisdol erupted after the locals obstructed vehicles carrying garbage from the Kathmandu Valley to the landfill site at Banchare Danda on Friday afternoon .

KATHMANDU, July 21: A clash between the police and the locals of Sisdol erupted after the locals obstructed vehicles carrying garbage from the Kathmandu Valley to the landfill site at Banchare Danda on Friday afternoon .


The vehicles carrying waste were being escorted by the police upon the request of the Ministry of Urban Development and the local bodies of the Kathmandu Valley.

According to the Solid Waste Management Association of Nepal (SWMAN), the police were escorting vehicles loaded with garbage from Kathmandu when the locals stopped them at Sisdole.


After the obstruction, the police used force to remove the barricades resulting in a clash with the locals. 


The garbage trucks could not move forward due to the obstruction of the locals.
