Raut, who reached Rajgadh to address a function, was arrested at 3 pm on Saturday, according to District Police Office, Jhapa. Raut was arrested to prevent any untoward incidents after representatives of the local political parties resorted to protests against his alleged statements against national integrity, said SP Rabindranath Regmi of District Police Office, Jhapa.
When the police tried to make the arrest activists affiliated to CK Raut Save Campaign pelted stones at the police force injuring Manoj Kumar Poudel, Chief of Area Police Office, Rajgadh and two police constables.
Raut is under custody at the District Police Office, Jhapa. He was earlier arrested from Belbari of Morang on September 13. He was later released in October after posting a bail of Rs 50,000.
Meanwhile, six activists and an ambulance used to transport Raut's activists have been taken under control. The Area Police Office Ghailaduba impounded the ambulance (Ko 1 Cha 5522) along with the activists heading towards Rajgadh. The ambulance and the activists have been detained at Area Police Office, Birtamod.
