KATHMANDU, Jan 15: Civil society members on Tuesday urged the government and political parties representing in the parliament to save the life of senior orthopedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC.
In a press release, the civil society members urged the government and political parties representing in the parliament to incorporate demands of Dr KC while endorsing the National Medical Education bill in the parliament.
"We urge Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to implement agreements reached with Dr KC in the past," the press release said.
The civil society members' appeal comes at a time when Dr KC's 16th hunger strike enters its 8th day and his health is deteriorating day by day.
Those signing the appeal are Sushila Karki, Damannath Dhungana, Bhairab Risal, Kedar Bhakta Mathema, Dhruba Chandra Gautam, Abhi Subedi, Rajendra Dahal, Jayaraj Acharya, Dwarika Dhungel, Madan Upadhyay, Ramesh Kanta Adhikari, Saroj Dhital, Dilli Devi Shakya, Sekhar Gurung, Birendra Mishra, Nobel Kishor Rai, Ram Dayal Rakesh, and Khemraj Regi.
