KATHMANDU, July 17: Some 15 civil society leaders including Dr Saroj Dhital have drawn the attention of the government and political parties to start dialogue for addressing the demands of senior orthopedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC.
They have urged the state and the political parties to end the fast-unto-death staged by Dr KC by providing an ‘appropriate outlet’ to his demands.
“Dr KC is staging hunger strike since eight day and his health is deteriorating day by day,” reads the appeal issued by civil society leaders, “We are concerned over the negligence of state toward the fast-unto-death.”
Those signing the appeal are Nilambar Acharya, Anuradha Koirala, Kedar Bhakta Mathema, Kulchandra Gautam, Mina Acharya, Yadav Kharel, Prof. Jayaraj Acharya, Dwarika Dhungel, Prof. Dr. Abhi Subedi, Prof. Chaitanya Mishra, Dr. Ramesh Kanta Adhikari, Dr. Saroj Dhital, Prof. Yogendra Yadav, Prof. Dilli Devi Shakya and Prof. Kapil Shrestha.
