CIAA team returns after investigation

DHANGADHI, March 30: A team of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has finished investigation of physical infrastructure at Mahendranagar and Dhangadhi built for the Sixth National Games after allegation surfaced of widespread irreglarities during their construction.



The CIAA team lead by DSP Arjun Chand inspected infrastructures, inquired officials and took documents under control. The team returned to Kathmandu after a six-days investigation. [break]



The team also inquired employees of the Regional Sports Development committee.



The team recorded statements from Deepak Saud, the coordinator of Sixth National Games Preparation secretariat, Deepak Saud, the president of Regional Sports Development Committee, NSC Account Officer Dharmaraj Ojha, NSC engineers Raju Shrestha and Arun Upadhyaya among other.



The team also took original documents and other details of the games under control.



The team inspected the covered hall in Mahendranagar as well as other structures.



The three member team headed by DSP Chand had arrived there along with other members -- engineer Surendra Baidhya and Shiva KC on Sunday.



Earlier, 11 political parties of Kailali and UCPN-Maoist had claimed of irregularities in the Games and submitted letter of memorandum at the Public Account Committee and CIAA demanding a probe.
