KATHMANDU, April 2: Chief Commissioner of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Nabin Kumar Ghimire has said that the anti-graft body is not under any political influence.
Speaking in a meeting with the State Affairs and Governance Committee under the Federal Parliament on Tuesday, Ghimire asserted that CIAA is working as per the constitution mandates and declined the charge of working under any political pressure.

Stating that commission is committed to curbing any forms of corruption, Ghimire expressed his dissatisfaction over the allegation against the CIAA for turning deaf ears on major embezzlements.
“We are also catching big fishes. I do not agree that we are focused only on small fishes”, he argued.
The parliamentary body summoned the CIAA chief to discuss the role of the constitutional anti-graft body in the major scandals and other issues.
