KATHMANDU, Oct 30: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has directed the Budhanilkantha School to postpone the scholarship examinations for Grade five scheduled for November 5 on the suspicion of lack of transparency and inclusion.

CIAA´s Spokesperson Ishwori Prasad Paudel said that the direction was given by sending a letter to the Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Chairman of the School Management Committee, Shanker Prasad Pandey. [break]

Based on a complaint filed by the Budhanilkantha Staff Union, the CIAA has directed the School to make the scholarship selection process systematic, transparent, decent, regular and inclusive, and make it in line to the academic year.

Similarly, the CIAA has directed to publish the notice for scholarship examinations to ensure that it is accessible to all.

However, the school Principal Narayan Sharma claimed that no irregularity has taken place so far in scholarship selection process.

The Union has been agitating for long demanding to appoint the school principal through open competition and calling for an investigation into the irregularities carried out by the present management committee.
