KATHMANDU, Sept 14: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Monday said that it was deeply concerned by the press statement issued by Minister for Youth and Sports Purushottam Paudel.

The CIAA on Friday had written to Prime Minister Sushil Koirala asking him to punish Minister Paudel for illegally nominating Keshav Kumar Bista as member secretary of the National Sports Council.
In response to the CIAA's statement, Minister Paudel on Sunday had claimed that the facts presented by the anti-graft body were flawed and baseless. Paudel had also pointed out that the allegations were against democratic norms.
