KATHMANDU, Nov 28: A charge sheet has been filed against four officials of Kalikot District Agriculture Development Office including its former chief Yog Prasad Kharel on charge of misappropriation of budget allocated for apple farming in the district.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has accused Kharel of furnishing fake bills to pocket the budget in the name of fake apple farmers. Along with Kharel, other officials Prakash Pandey, Dinesh Khatri, Tapendra Dhwoj Hamal have been dragged to the court.
Kharel and Hamal have been accused of misusing Rs 877,000 while Pandey and Khatri have been accused of misusing Rs 127,000 and Rs 250,000 respectively. The CIAA has sought maximum punishment as per the anti-corruption laws along with the recovery of the misused amount.
