Chitwan road mishap toll rises to 5

CHITWAN, Oct 2
: Five people traveling in a truck were killed when the truck collided with a tanker at Kalikhola, Chandibhanjyang VDC-6 on the Narayangadh-Mugling road and fell on the bank of the Trishuli river on Friday afternoon.



The deceased are 45-year-old Shanta Pokharel and 45-year-old Goma Koirala of Padampur-4, Chitwan and 55-year-old Radha Pokharel of Sunaula Bazaar, Dhading. The names of two more who died in the accident is not known.



Eleven others have been injured in the accident.



The mini-truck was going towards Narayangadh and the tanker (Registration No. Na 2 Kha 4370) was heading towards Kathmandu from Birgunj at the time of the accident.



The accident took place at 4: 30 pm.



The eight seriously injured passengers including the truck driver have been taken to Bharatpur for treatment while three have returned home after treatment, the Area Police Office, Mugling said.
