According to Tek Prasad Gurung, the NC district president, they put off the banda in view of Eid-al-Fitr, a holy festival of Muslim community being celebrated today.
Gurung, however, claimed that the arrested cadres would be released only on Sunday as today and tomorrow are public holidays.
On Tuesday, NC-affiliated Tarun Dal’s Bharatpur municipal committee vice-president Pramish Rai and the Nepal Student Union’s district member Yam Bahadur Karki were arrested in Bharatpur. The Tarun Dal had also enforced a banda in the district demanding the duo’s release, a day earlier.
