The district court had slapped the fine on Goungbu, who was arrested with six kg of red sandalwood, three kg of sandalwood powder, orchids, harrobarro and chiraito on June 13. However, police officers, who arrested Goungbu, have expressed dissatisfaction at lesser fine sought bt DFO.
"DFO´s claims according to which the court delivered its verdict has demoralized us," a police officer told myrepublica.com. According to him, DFO could have sought one year jail and fine on Goungbu.
Police had also seized Rs 235,000 from Goungbu. However, as the official said, DFO did not mention the seizure of Nepali currency in the case paper filed against Goungbu in the court.
