Chinese delegation returns home

KATHMANDU, July 1: A Chinese delegation led by Chief of International Department for South Asian Affairs of the Communist Party of China, Ai Ping, has returned home on Sunday by completing a three-day visit to Nepal.



The delegation discussed with Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist), Pushpa Kamal Dahal, President of the Nepali Congress, Sushil Koirala, Chairman of the CPN-UML, Jhalanath Khanal, among others, on various issues including the latest political situation in the country, peace process, constitution writing and forging national consensus and familiarized themselves on their concepts regarding the issues.[break]



During the visit, urging the leaders to give an outlet to political transition to Nepali people, the Chinese leader Ai said that China wants to see the completion of the Nepal´s peace and constitution-drafting processes by forging national consensus among the parties as soon as possible.



This was the first visit by a high-level Chinese delegation to visit Nepal after the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly.
