China establishes world's biggest lab in Everest region

BEIJING, Oct 2: China has established the world´s ´biggest´ multimedia laboratory to monitor atmospheric and environmental change in Mt. Everest.



The laboratory was established in China´s Mt. Everest side at the height of 4,276 above the sea level on Thursday, according to China daily. [break]



The laboratory will provide digital statistics to Chinese scientists collecting information about climate change in the Sagarmatha area. It is said that Chinese Science Foundation has been constantly monitoring and studying the effects of atmospheric and environmental change on the Everest region since 2004.
