SYANGJA, August 29: A child died and four have been injured when a microbus met with an accident in Waling-9, Bhumre, Syangja on Monday.
As informed by the investigation officer of the Ward Police Office, Nabaraj KC, the deceased has been identified as Aamisha Thapa, 12, of Waling-9. Thapa died on the way to hospital in Pokhara. Among the injured, Badri Shrestha, 55, and Arjun Kumal, 18 are reportedly in critical condition. They are undergoing treatment in Manipal Teaching Hospital.
Meanwhile, Nirjala Shrestha, 13 and Lok Bahadur Kumal, 28 who have sustained minor injuries are undergoing treatment at the Primary Health Centre Waling, informed Dr Prabin Ghimire.
Police said the driver's help was behind the wheel when the accident took place. Preliminary investigation by police stated that the accident happend after the microbus lost balance.
Police have detained the driver Sundar Marasini, 27, and his assistant Ranjit KC, 18, for further investigations.
